In testing. The trading engine is not live; the console shows sample data and places no orders. Product features described here are planned.
Check, revoke and replace a trading key
A disconnected website can still have an approved trading key. Inspect the approval on Hyperliquid itself.
On this page
Find the approval
- Open app.hyperliquid.xyz yourself and connect the main wallet that granted the approval. Check the domain before interacting with the wallet.
- Choose More → API. Match API Wallet Name and API Wallet Address against the tool’s recorded key address; a familiar name alone is not enough.
- Read Valid Until for that row. Use the recorded expiry rather than assuming a fixed number of days from your last login.
Choose what you need to stop
- Website session
- Logging out or disconnecting the website changes the website session. Treat the trading approval as active until you inspect or remove it on Hyperliquid.
- Key approval
- Removing the API wallet takes away that key’s authority. Keep existing positions and orders in a separate checklist; removing a key is not a close-position instruction.
- Tool design
- Helmsman’s stop is designed to cancel the follow’s orders and close its managed positions. Pause is designed to retain positions. These controls are not live trading controls yet.
Remove a key and verify the outcome
- On the matching API row, use its removal action. Review the wallet request for the intended key and approve it only if those details match.
- Wait for the result, refresh the API page and confirm that the approval is no longer listed. A timeout or a closed wallet popup is not confirmation.
- In the official trading interface, inspect Open Orders and Positions. Cancel unwanted orders and decide how to manage any remaining positions yourself; the revoked key cannot be relied on for cleanup.
If expiry has already passed
Treat the old key as unavailable. Inspect orders and positions directly on Hyperliquid; do not assume an automated tool completed its last action.
For a new approval, use a fresh API-wallet address. Hyperliquid can prune a removed or expired key’s nonce state, so reusing that address can expose previously signed actions to replay. No legitimate tool needs your main wallet’s private key or seed phrase.
Keep builder approval separate
The API key and builder fee ceiling are separate approvals. Removing a builder approval does not remove the trading key. If your goal is to remove the tool’s trading authority, inspect the API-wallet approval itself.
Helmsman’s planned fee is 0.03%, within a 0.05% approved ceiling. Check the separate builder approval when changing the fee permission.
If you suspect misuse
Use the official approval page promptly, then check the remaining orders and positions with your main wallet. Do not wait for the tool to report success.
For an orderly exit with a working tool, confirm its cleanup before removing its key. If you remove the key first, finish the remaining work in the official interface.
