Helmsman’s fee is collected on each fill. Hyperliquid’s trading fees and funding are separate.

Charged on filled value
Helmsman charges 0.03% of filled value through Hyperliquid’s builder fee. There is no subscription, deposit charge or performance fee. The fill history shows the fee charged.
The ceiling you approve
0.03% is the planned charge; 0.05% is the approved maximum, not a second fee. The protocol allows charges within that maximum without another approval.
Hyperliquid rejects orders above your ceiling. Raising the ceiling requires your main wallet’s signature; a trading key cannot approve it.

This uses Hyperliquid’s base taker rate, which applies to orders taking liquidity. Your account’s rate may differ.
If you open a $10,000 position and later close it for $10,000, transaction fees are roughly $15.00, or 0.15% of $10,000. Funding payments and slippage are excluded. More turnover means more fees.
How the demo shows fees
The current demo separates Helmsman and Hyperliquid trading fees and deducts both when calculating net P&L. It does not include funding payments. The live account ledger is not available yet.

- Is the 0.05% ceiling charged on top of 0.03%?
- No. 0.03% is the planned charge; 0.05% is the maximum you approve, not a second fee. Hyperliquid rejects orders above your ceiling.
- What do opening and closing a $10,000 position cost in fees?
- About $15.00, or 0.15% of $10,000, at Hyperliquid’s base taker rate: $3.00 to Helmsman and $4.50 to Hyperliquid on each fill. Funding payments and slippage are excluded.
- Is there a subscription or performance fee?
- No. There is no subscription, deposit charge or performance fee. Helmsman’s only charge is 0.03% of filled value.
