Fees
One fee, taken by Hyperliquid at the moment of each fill and shown in your console next to your result.
In private testing: the trading engine is not live yet. The console you can open today shows sample data and nothing is traded. These pages describe how Helmsman is built to work.
What you pay Helmsman
0.03% of the value of each order Helmsman places for you. On $10,000 traded that is $3.00. If Helmsman doesn’t trade, you pay nothing: there is no subscription, no deposit fee and no share of your results.
The fee uses Hyperliquid’s builder fee: the exchange collects it on each fill and the amount appears in your fill history. Helmsman never invoices you and never touches your balance.
The ceiling you sign
During set-up your wallet signs a maximum of 0.05% — $5.00 per $10,000. Hyperliquid rejects any order carrying a higher fee. Raising the ceiling needs a new signature from your main wallet; the trading key cannot do it.
What you pay Hyperliquid
Hyperliquid’s own trading fee is separate and goes to the exchange: about 0.045% per market order at the base tier. Helmsman’s orders take liquidity, so expect the taker rate. Funding on perpetual positions applies as it would if you traded by hand.
A round trip — in and out of a position — therefore costs roughly 0.15% of its size in total. A trader who turns positions over often will cost you more in fees than one who holds.
Where you see it
The console shows three figures side by side: your result after every fee, your trading result, and the fees you’ve paid split between Helmsman and Hyperliquid. Every mirrored trade in the log carries its fee.
